Traditional Swedish Massage is what all registered massage therapists are taught while in school in Ontario. It involves several different techniques applied using lubricant with the hands, fingers, thumbs, and sometimes forearms and elbows. The techniques are applied in a variety of ways depending on the desired outcome of the treatment. For example, lighter techniques are generally applied in a slow rhythmic fashion to achieve relaxation, while deeper techniques are typically applied to reduce tone in muscles, realign scar tissue and more.
